1700s French Court Dress

French Court Dress 1700s

The wide, flat skirts of the French court gown are supported underneath by the paniers. The overgown is made of heavy, olive green cotton and brocade stomacher. The skirt pleats into a point in the back for fullness over the panniers. The pleated detailing and underskirt are heavy satin. The dress is trimmed in pink lace.
